Here at Alliance Mountain Horses you won't find fancy barns or hired hands, covered arenas or tack rooms full of endless saddles. We're a humble farm where our horses speak for themselves. You may find some trophies and many blue ribbons which can clue you in to Tara's addiction to the show ring, but you won't find haughty attitudes or pushy sales slogans. We love what we do. It's hard work and while our wealth isn't measured in money...we certainly feel rich!

We call our horses "our kids" because each one is individual, just like family! Their social and mental well being is important to us. Often, people are impressed by how at peace our horses are and how well behaved they can be. Much of that has to do with the fact that we allow them to be horses! Our stallions are never stalled alone for an eternity of solitude. They thrive in bachelor herds and do their own social disciplining and play until their hearts are content!
You won't find any mouthy aggressive stallions here.

Imagine...grown breeding stallions playing together like foals!
And while they certainly play rough (No girls allowed!) Everyone gets along and nobody ever gets hurt.

We also think that these wonderfully and naturally gaited horses can successfully be shown and ridden completely barefoot and we have had 3 International Champion horses to prove it! If a particular horse tells us he doesn't need shoes, then we listen! As we have said, we believe that each horse is individual with different needs and we are always changing and adjusting to meet those needs.

In our training, we always try to find the best way to instill confidence in each horse. Just take it one day at a time! Some horses, like our buckskin stallion Hondo, are amazing professionals from day one...others can take weeks to learn something. One thing they all have in common is that they are always encouraged and set up for success no matter how small of a step it may be.

Our goals are simple: Be good at what we do, and never look at an end as a way to justify the means. We never assume that we are better than anyone else or that our methods are the only methods that work. But we do know what works for us and we can always be confident in our integrity and the success we have already attained.

A horse doesn't have to have certain bloodlines or paperwork to be great!
It doesn't even have to be beautiful, as long as it has a good heart!

Our favorite horses aren't necessarily world champions, or high class fancy mounts...they're the stoic ones who just want to be near you...

The one that will safely carry your novice sister and her child...
The one you can laugh with...
And the one that will always give 110% whether they are in the show ring or giving pony rides.

We are excited to see what the future holds and we are proud and humbled to know where our past has brought us. Good friends and supportive family have been there every step of the way. God Bless!
